Question Author
a very loving few words, with no notes.
Question Author
or none that he referred to, i love the part where he refers to Prince Philip as Papa, old school manners
Quite the perfect father it would seem .
Question Author
he probably wasn't, no one is.
Yes Emmie, very touching and he was clearly struggling with his emotions, not often seen by Prince Charles
Question Author
i thought it very moving, and he was as you say struggling somewhat with his emotions.
I remember him doing something similar when his beloved Grandmother died, how time flies. It's hard to lose your Dad, no matter how old Dad is, or how old the son/daughter is.
Question Author
it is Shirley, i lost my mum 4 years ago and quite honestly seems like yesterday
I think some on here need to remember this is a family who’ve lost a loved one, you can be anti Royal and that’s your prerogative but what I saw on here yesterday was sickening,
Question Author
lets hope that doesn't happen today eh Bobbi...
Question Author
there is a service this morning i believe at Canterbury Cathedral, i wonder if they will televise it, -
Yes, em I lost my Dad in 2015 and Mum in 2016 and, to me, it hardly seems any time at all, sometimes only like yesterday, such is the loss. If the Queen and her family are feeling like this, and I have no doubt that they are, then they have all my sympathy.

Can you imagine the bitter, sour faces on them though Bobbs, they are to be pitied really, or best ignored I feel.

Question Author
A remembrance service for the Duke of Edinburgh is to be held in Canterbury Cathedral this morning as the UK observes a period of official mourning.

It will be led by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, who is also expected to lead Prince Philip's funeral next Saturday.
What time ?
Question Author
there is no time listed, it might not be televised?
Hopefully not emmie
Most people's parents are described in glowing terms around the time of their funeral. It's what decent people do.
Question Author
i would have watched if there was.. But there is no listing on my tv.
Question Author
perhaps Prudie, i wrote a piece, as did one of my brothers, not out of duty, but out of love for her.
Sorry, I got waylaid when my daughter called, yes losing a parent is awful, my Mum died on Fathers Day 1974, I still feel the pain of that day, I was just 26 yr old
