Is Biden A Doofus
& are you comfortable with him as leader of the Free world?
Answers
Trump shouldn’t be mentioned here. It’s not a question of comparison. It’s about Biden - and I wouldn’t trust him an inch.

He seems too old and doddery to me. And forgive me for mentioning Trump, but I wish he'd got back in .. //
You don't need to be 'forgiven' - you can mention who and what you like, subject to Site Rules.
The would-be censors should realise that they have no power beyond their own imaginations and desire to direct a thread in the way they think it should go.

fcc - // Why compare him to trump,compare him to Washington,lincoln,Or Kennedy,in which case yes he's a doofas. //
Because his policies and actions are most relavent to the most recent incumbent.
But actually, why compare him at all? He has been in office too short a time to seriously assess his presidency in any meaningful way.

archibaldy - // The final options for the leader of the free world this time round were atrocious but I'm more comfortable with this result. //
I think your point is a good one.
For the second time in electorial history, the Ameriucan people were faced with choosing the candidate they disliked the least.
Fortunately, history showed them well beyond doubt that, no matter how bad Mr Trump's opponent could potentially be, he would have to be far worse that Hilary Clinton in order to be an acceptable alternative to four more years of Trump.
On that basis alone, Mr Biden was elected - because enough people understood that giving Trump the ego-boost of another term would be enough to send him right over the top, and either into war, or bancruptcy, and with his temprement and fiscal history, probably both at the same time.

It's worth noting that despite the significant popular vote margin of 7 million votes, it would have taken a relative handful of votes to switch to swing things the other way -- around 40,000 voters overall across four states. The 2016 Election was similarly close in the other direction, showing just how polarised the US has become and just how sensitive to swing votes it is.

tell that to the pipeline workers who have lost their jobs. //
Anyone can make a snap judgement, exspecially if an individual policy has a direct impact on their lives and livelihoods.
I am talking about a reasoned balanced assessment of his term as a whole, which can only be carried out when the term has been completed.

I have listened to many of Biden's speeches and I cannot help but think that, at best, he is past his best. At worse, he can hardly string a sentence together- it's nothing to do with a speech impediment- he relies far too much on his teleprompter, and when he doesn't use one, can't even finish his own sentences. Either he's a "doofus" or is suffering from some serious health issue, such as dementia.

o god which doofus wrote that? - ".....term has been completed, and perhaps not even then. In illustration I point out the Harding administration of 1922. Altho his reputation over the tea Pot Dome scandal tarnished his repuattion surely the failure to get ratified the Peace of Versaill ...."
and so Stalin 1935 - it is far too early to judge if the system of concentration camps ( gulag archipelago ) is successful and we will have to run it for at least another ten years ....
Your cruise lectures will at least raise comment Andie
