I will.... because I'm used to it for work. However... I have actually informed them already and why. But they still need me to ring back on Friday morning. And I'm not convinced that everyone will remember, or bother, to inform them twice.
They have had two weeks now, to potentially give mine to someone else. But will only allow it 2 hours beforehand.

If they don't want their second jab it's up to them their choice nothing to do with anyone else! Maybe they should have rung to cancel but it's nothing to get to get upset about everyone different and got all different things going in their life.

fraser have you considered the vaccine may be no good to used after a certain time?

Fortunately not one dose was wasted which is good, however there should be some inroads made to determine what caused this high no show.

There were administrative errors when arranging our 2nd vaccine. After several days and several phone calls we turned up on the day. I wasn’t on the sheet. But they did me anyway. This time no side effects whatsoever.

I'm in tomorrow morning first thing, my surgery, no reminder so far.....and then when they said upfront it was the 2nd, they came back with the 1st....I'm going in - is there a difference in dosage between 1st and second time? (AZ was my first one)...

Then they would have a missed slot, pixie, if that was me. If they cannot accommodate somebody who has done the right thing by phoning up to cancel then they shouldn't grumble when they have no-shows. They can't have it both ways.

I got no reminders, messages or anything, if you booked both at the same time as I did once I got the letter, not sure you get reminders. Too many to be an accident and people in the 40+ group can't get an appointment for their first because the second is being prioritised.

NJ, I agree with that principle, but in reality, it more affects other customers. Both the GP and vaccinator have said they are no longer doing anyone with even the mildest allergic reaction... but can't cancel. Computer says no.

Sometimes both appointments are made at once (i.e. before the first appointment). Sometimes you're expected to wait for the second appointment.

I was in the latter case. I had my first jab and was told I would be contacted to book my second one. After exactly 11 weeks I rang the GP and was given some lame excuse. I waited another three days, rang again and was given another lame excuse. I went online and booked my own second jab, at a centre much further away. After a nice little trip out, job done, both jabs administered.

Except now my GP is sending me text after text asking me to book my second jab!

I agree. Some people just do not care. My doctors surgery has scores of non attendees.
