Jersey had been producing its own Electricity since 1924. Not even the Nazis turned it off after invading, they did however restrict supplies for the populace and divert supply for their own uses. By the end of the 1970s output reached somewhere around 85MW using a combination of Diesel and Steam turbine generators. Then the eco zealots got a foot in the door and insisted that French nuclear power was much more environmentally friendly and cheaper too, so 3 cables were laid underwater to supply power and the power plants were decommissioned. Not so cheap and not so friendly now is it? Another illustration of why we should never let the frogs have any leverage or involvement in our needs or desires. They are not to be trusted or relied upon ... except to eventually stab you in the back.

Here's another thought. As yet I can find very little negative comment or opinion from within the EUSSR to this threatening and bullying of a peaceful self contained population. Deprivation of a basic need to a perceived doubter is presumably de rigueur. Rest assured another evil empire will be watching developments with interest. They currently supply most of the gas to mainland Europe, and they to us(we must be mad). Mr Putin's ambitions are currently somewhat constrained by the use of sanctions by the EUSSR and the U.K. He will be inwardly smiling at the prospect of repeating the dose, and using the treatment of Jersey as justification when accused of warlike behaviour.

The UK should be making plans forwith to supply electricity to Jersey, regardless of cost. Tell the French to stick their pipelines up their derrières.
