....Labour councillors prefer a memorial to a foreign career criminal than to a British soldier murdered by a terrorist! ...and they wonder why Captain H can't make any headway.
After 11 years of Tory rule, Covid crisis and allegations of sleaze, Labour should be on an all-time high. It doesn't look that way, though. If they lose Hartlepool tomorrow they might as well put a sign on their front door saying, "Closed until further notice - awaiting miracle cure".
I dont think it is all down to the leader of the Labour party as being the problem and this illustrates my point. The behaviour of some of its members with all these wild protests on one side and right-on woke liberal pushes on the other side are not what the working man want (i.e. Labours core vote base). Corbyn with his brand of student politics together with the momentum mob has brought untold damage to Labour I suspect for decades.
But of course the self confessed intellectuals of labours protest wing will argue different and labour will be in the wilderness for some time to come.
And all at a time when there is ammo in abundance to lob at the Tories. Its a ruddy open goal but labour still cant get it in.
I hope the tax payers are pleased to see where their money’s going. Manchester can boast many people worthy of an accolade but, no, the people who are elected to represent the city choose Floyd. Sickening.
Tora,
You have lost the plot posting to that.
A blatantly biased post.
I don’t think Labour will do well tomorrow, but it will have nowt to do with George Floyd or Lee Rigby.
Labour no longer know who their core voters are. They have been taken over by a London Centric group of career politicians, leftwing activists, minorityists and loons. Outside of the Capital they look massively out of touch, dated, and irrelevant.
// but, no, the people who are elected to represent the city choose Floyd. //
well- -we have the chane to vote them out of office tomorrow in that casec
The George Floyd mural in Stephenson Square wasn’t commissioned by Manchester City Council, it was done by a local graffiti artist. Sadly it was quickly vandalised.
A Lee Rigby mural soon appeared on Thomas Street. Again done by a local artist not a commission by Manchester City Council. I don’t think that has been vandalised.
Both artworks were very good and were a welcome addition to the City Centre. Sadly, also there to be exploited by by extremist vandals.
I find it bizarre that anyone should want a mural of a murdered man from another country on public display in our city centres. Please can someone explain it to me? I do understand why we would have one to celebrate the life of Lee Rigby. I could even understand why we would have a mural of Pink Floyd. But George- why?
// Is It Any Wonder Labour Are Going Down The Kasi? //
I doubt very much That the number of Conservative Councillors is going to rise after tomorrow. At least 200+ Conservative Councillors will be ‘Down the Kasi’ (sic), but that will be a wonderful result (mis term, idiot PM etc).
sunk, if your lot can't take some council seats mid term, coming out of a crisis and wallpaper gate then you are going down like a one legged man in an aris kicking contest.
Sunk, why are you trying to defend SKS and the labour party's poor performance by trying to deflect using Johnson and his mob.
Labour should be stomping ahead given the antics of Johnson and Hancock but they are not. Why not? you should be asking rather than just saying the other lot are bad too.
// why are you trying to defend SKS and the labour party's poor performance //
I’m not. Does this sound like I am defending sta4mer...
