If Scotland does gain independence an influx of Scottish talent to England is inevitable. Not so a flow in the opposite direction. Sturgeon will have to devise some method of preventing a brain drain. Border movement restriction is the most likely solution.

It was built by the Romans in the second century. They built another one a bit further north about 40 years later. It remained the northern border of the Roman Empire for about 300 years.

The country of England came into being in 927AD, about 500 years after the Romans had left.
