Are the Israelis justified taking out buildings when Hamas are using them to hide their missiles and even their intelligence (in the press building). To be fair on the latter, they gave warning to all to get out before they flattened the place. Isn't it cynical of Hamas to be stuffing the missiles into the cellars with ordinary residents living above them.

What's the way out as to breaking the impasse?

Indefinitely naomi... Hamas hides in schools and hospitals because they know Israel will destroy them - and then they do... which wins Hamas more supporters among the grieving and more attention on the world stage... the present strategy does nothing but make them stronger.

If every time they launched a missile the media was filled with mourning Israeli families rather than dead Gazans then Hamas would be forced to change tactics. Not the next time and not the time after that... but in the future they would have to.

Additionally, I don't believe there is a workable solution to the problem of the Middle East. What's done is done and it isn't going to be reversed - and that's something the Palestinians will never accept.

Untitled, What do they seriously expect to happen? What do the protesters seriously expect to happen? That Israel will eventually cede its land? It simply isn’t going to happen - ever - and Israel has no option but to defend itself against attack. It cannot just sit by allowing enemy rockets to continue year after year destroying its land and its people. Why would it? Would you?

I don't actually think Hamas expects or wants Israel to give up its land, whatever they say in public... they've been offered generous terms before and turned them down. I think they just want the war to keep going, for Israel to keep bombing Gaza and driving more people behind Hamas... they want to reap the benefits of war while Palestine burns. And it looks to me like they're getting it.

So they say... I think their charter also calls for jews to be eradicated. But the people who run Hamas are not stupid... they must know that their stated objectives are unachievable... Indeed I think that's the point... they want to exist in a permanent war for an unattainable goal, and they want all the benefits from that even if gaza is obliterated.

Hamas wants Israel to bomb Gaza... it is the reason they send missiles into Israel - they know that they can manipulate Israel into blowing up hospitals/schools/camps. If you are at war it does not make sense to do as your enemy wishes does it...
