I think Gaza is a bit more battered and bruised than Israel is... Hamas can "declare" what they like they're in it for the cash... they will say anything that keeps the money flowing from Iran.

It's a very complicated situation there but if the 'dome' works then there is no excuse for the Israelis to escalate so it has to be a good thing.

The situation is controlled by the US President. He permits it for a short period, and then orders a ceasefire. This allows new US munitions to be tested and proved in battle, making them more saleable to Arab countries.
