Maybe check out Portugal's attitude to drugs? The "war on drugs" certainly isn't getting us anywhere. But you do need to read up about the various propsals; don't just condemn without researching a bit.

The wee besom wont allow a glass of wine or a bottle of beer with dinner, putting the fear into drivers across the country. To imagine she's suddenly going to lose her puritanical control-freak mindset over drugs, hard or soft, beggars belief.
