I do believe he apologised for his shortcomings at the very beginning of the session.
Yes, he is a rat, but let's not forget that the PM appeared to hang on his every word for quite a considerable time. And, but for Carrie, he may well still have been Johnson's BFF.
Much of Johnson's success in the Brexit referendum and the General Election is due in no small part to Cummings. So can hiring him really be considered a mistake.
The most damning thing you can say about Johnson is that he was foolish enough to employ this individual in the first place.
It was plainly high-risk given Cummings reputation as an anarchist and someone plainly poised to turn the tables on anyone who crosses him. The Brexit campaign chiefs who tried to sack him know this only too well. They ended up going and he took over!
what? you said that Brexit was largely down to DC, and the GE election, but there's a raft of people doing the donkey work presumably. Perhaps Boris's big mistake was keeping him on for so long. Yes he had the PM's ear, maybe that shouldn't have happened so often.
“ Much of Johnson's success in the Brexit referendum and the General Election is due in no small part to Cummings. So can hiring him really be considered a mistake.”
Plainly a huge mistake. The referendum was before Johnson became PM. Cummings was vital to that but a lot less vital to the election. It’s hard to believe even a group of ministers as haplessly incompetent as this lot couldn’t have found someone to take on Corbyn :-)
ich, do you think Johnson would have become PM without Brexit? The point i was trying to make is that with Cummings by his side, Johnson successfully led the Brexit campaign and his stock rose considerably. So much so that he is now our PM. Perhaps it could be argued that the best day's work Johnson did was to hire Cummings in the first place?
Mr Cummings will enjoy his moment in the sun - gettinsg some much-needed attention, which has been missing for a while.
The government will say the equivalent of "So what?" and Mr Cumming sill return to whatever he is doing now, with his power, such as it was, obliterated.
does anyone really care what he has to say at the moment ?
get it out in the open we all know Boris is a liar and we all have accepted that we are happy to have a liar as our prime minister
