Protecting The Nhs, Isn't It Supposed To Protect Us?
A precedent has now been set that we must not now allow the NHS to become too busy with patients. It's no longer about preventing people from dying, it's now all about the NHS workload. It's becoming ridiculous.

Yes and a lot of them came out because the numbers in dock in that week increased by only 174. There are around 150,000 NHS beds in the UK and the latest number of Covid patients is 1,229 - less than 1% of the total beds.
This is a farce. The country is remaining under restrictions that are causing immense damage purely as precautionary measure. There is no basis for them to continue. They are being maintained simply in case numbers go up. Of course this virus will spread. That's what all viruses do. We simply cannot go on jumping down a rabbit hole every time a new variant appears "just in case". The link between the virus and serious illness has been all but broken and the NHS will have to cope with the cases where it hasn't.

No they haven't. It is patients that have been destabilising it as the latest mantra imploring them to protect the NHS suggests.
The latest plea, now that Covid hospitalisations seem not to be rising at the same rate as new infections, seems to suggest that we must all steer clear of the NHS whilst it tries to catch up from its de facto closure of the last fifteen months. The implication of this is that, as well as not becoming ill, we should also steer clear of any activities which may see the need for medical attention, such as sporting activities, travelling anywhere, taking a bath or cutting up vegetables. It's a bit like a bus company imploring its passengers not to wait at bus stops. That way, their buses will not run the risk of being late as a result of having to stop to pick up passengers.
