It would have been better for the country for this to have been an immediate sacking rather than a forced resignation. I'm glad he has gone. Not because of the affair but because of the sheer hypocrisy of the man. His obvious contempt for the public and Prof. Ferguson makes it clear that he can't be trusted and should never again hold a position with any degree of...

Naomi I’m ‘enjoying’ the fact he’s gone but I’m not running around with a spoon banging a saucepan , I don’t feel one bit sorry for him, he’s brought it on himself
Jno, I’ve said elsewhere that he’s a fool so your preaching is surplus to requirements. We’re all fools sometimes.
I know you don’t feel sorry for him, Bobbi ..
says the woman who's been telling Ian Hislop what a bad Christian he is!

Hypocrites, bullies etc will eventually fall on their own swords, it happens
Picture Hancock smugly watching the Queen sitting alone at Prince Philip's funeral, while knowing what he was getting up to.
It's good to know that hypocrites (especially those in government who we are supposed to trust) get their comeuppance sometimes !
//I gain no pleasure in the fact he has resigned, and even less from the fact that two families have been destroyed by his actions//

Isn't *SHE* equally to blame?
Why does the female get off?
*SHE* has equally destroyed two families!
As I said in an earlier thread nailit it takes 2 to tango

For Christ sakes, this is NOT about his philandering , it’s about his hypocrisy!
//As I said in an earlier thread nailit it takes 2 to tango//
Indeed!
Jno, I haven’t spoken to
Ian Hislop for some time - and I’ve never told him he’s a bad Christian. Your imagination is working overtime again.
Nailit, and if *SHE* was in a position of power within the government, we would had expected that *SHE* was removed from that position.

There's no double standards here, just that only one of the people involved in this affair was breaking the distancing regulations he expected everyone else to adhere to.
He got caught, paid the price, so life goes on.
Mrs Hancock won't leave him.
To me it isthat simple.
Hypocrisy, deceit, we have all been guilty of, but in the meantime have your fun and the jokes will follow.
//For Christ sakes, this is NOT about his philandering , it’s about his hypocrisy!//
No doubt...
Aided and abbeted by an aide...a female aide to be be precise.
I feel sorry for his wife but I don't feel sorry for him. You can't preach to people whilst doing what the hell you like in your own life.
Martin, for me their affair is not the concern.
It's his behaviour and hypocrisy that has shown me he is not to be trusted and now is a time when we need to have people we can trust in charge.

Others have made huge sacrifices during this pandemic. Discovering this type of behaviour from someone who is supposed to be doing his very best (yes, I know in unprecedented circumstances) and failing so sleazily is damaging for the country and for the efforts to get on top of the virus.
//Nailit, and if *SHE* was in a position of power within the government, we would had expected that *SHE* was removed from that position//

Sorry Mozz, I dont get the post.

Dont care who gets removed from what posisition.
Just dont keep blaming men...there was a woman involved there somewhere, It takes two !
/////You can't preach to people whilst doing what the hell you like in your own life.///

Of course you can and people do, but what you can't do is to get caught.
