Goodbye And Good Riddance Hancock

It would have been better for the country for this to have been an immediate sacking rather than a forced resignation. I'm glad he has gone. Not because of the affair but because of the sheer hypocrisy of the man. His obvious contempt for the public and Prof. Ferguson makes it clear that he can't be trusted and should never again hold a position with any degree of...

I feel those on this thread castigating posters for being angry at Hancock are totally missing the point. It's nothing to do with being squeaky clean or that he had an affair as if that's none of our business - it's the fact he has been physically touching someone he doesn't live with after telling the whole nation not to hug or touch anyone, however much they needed it if they don't live with us. To protect the NHS no less!
//I don’t see how Mr Hancock’s and Mrs Tress’s amorous clinch can fall within this guidance.//
I guess if they’d been conducting an affair for some time, which they had, social distancing wasn’t an issue for them - no more than it would be between any other long-term lovers. Yes, I know - he was instrumental in issuing guidelines - but this demand that he should have stopped kissing his lover - which is what it amounts to - really is utterly unrealistic and very petty…. in my opinion. He was pretty stupid in doing it so blatantly and getting caught - but this pedantic hysteria is irrational, unwarranted and, frankly, spiteful.

Take yourselves back to the actual time Hancock was having a wee sneaky cuddle with his mistress in front of cctv. ( stupidity but not life threatening) . Did any of you whilst obeying the guidelines set by the health minister miss a cuddle, kiss, handshake, a last goodbye from a loved one . How many of you missed attending a funeral of a beloved friend. How many of you were too afraid to even go to the shops. And lastly how many people do you think have suffered mental health issues ( keeping to the guidelines set by this health minister ?
