Night Out At The Pub, People Queuing To Get A Seat And Being Turned Away, It's Ridiculous.

My wife and I decided to go for a few drinks on Saturday night. We had to queue to wait for a seat and this was happening at a few pubs, a lot just turned round and walked away. We ended up pretending we were with another group so we could get a seat with them. Everyone we spoke to was of the same opinion, its starting to make people angry and the matt Hancock debacle is the last straw. Its disgusting that so much business is being lost by these ridiculous rules. It's time Boris grew a backbone and let everyone make there own judgement on whether they feel safe to go out and socialise. If you feel vulnerable then bloody stay at home.

I go out with my friends mid week and fortunately never had to queue but Saturdays might be different , I agree it’s getting so ridiculous now and after seeing MH getting to grips with his lover, it’s going to anger lots of people out there

I saw this last Saturday evening and I was surprised.
I said to my hubby as he had his back to the window, "look at that queue to get in here!!"

The futility of compliance is frustrating. Because of the rule of six. I had to hold a very special occasion in my garden.it was going to be at a posh hotel inside.
Boris unturned again and put the mockers on that.
Fortunately it did not rain. It was a restricted event, but it certainly wasn’t what it could have, should have been.

Just cos Matt Hancock was stupid and took risks dosnt mean covid will turn a blind eye. Some people just dont get it still. I know people who caught Covid recently watching football at the pub, everyone forgets all the distancing when there drinking. Indoor is still not safe and I'll choose my pubs carefully for some time yet, and will always look for a seat outside. In fact I'm all in favour of table service, hate all that queuing and jostling at the bar, madness at the moment

Not fair on those who want a night out but want to behave sensibly and safeley and not have crowds of randommers joining there table

We pre-book a table - but I would like to see the rules relaxed now. The problem is if the rules are relaxed and it goes pear-shaped, Boris will be blamed - and if the rules aren't relaxed he will be criticised. He can only do what he thinks is safest - but the fact is he can't do right for doing wrong.

I have a pub literally on my doorstep near my new house. We went there for a meal last week Saturday and booked a table 2 hours beforehand.

Maybe call the pub and check out the situation before going.

The dates are clear-target date is early July. They aint going to change it now just because a few people are queing or whinging or because Matt broke the rules. Am sure that from 19th July you can stand pressed together like sardines in a bar if you want. Wales may be earlier or later- review due 15 July. Scotland looks like August.

Its happening all round the world to you know and they did'nt all have Hancock in charge
