So, "enslaved and tortured" in Libya, manages to get to France, they reject his claim for asylum so he hoofs it in a rubber boat to the UK. He's thrown out, but a judge says he must be brought back. and the Home Secretary is thinking of making it an offence to arrive without papers (which I think it already is - try pitching up at Gatwick sans papiers and see how far you get).

we should adopt what the aussies are reported to be doing, intercept the boats and tow them back to the departure country. with all the money it cost them to cross they will think twice before trying again better that than keeping them in jail for 4 years at our expense
