TTT, because we still owe the divorce bill:-
//No 10 insisted the bill - which covers spending commitments made before the UK left the EU - stands between £35-39bn.//
TTT, it s an outstanding bill. What do you think the countries we wish to trade with thought that we were welshing on a due payment?Thet would be very cautious about doing any trade deal.
outstanding Bill? for what? We have been a net contributor since 1973, we've paid for the sorry shower of excrement multiple times how can we possibly owe them anything?
danny: "to repeat wht I posted at 13.45. //spending commitments made before the UK left the EU - stands between £35-39bn.// "
to repeat what I posted at 13:52, for what? give me an example of the sort of thing you mean, I can't imagine how we can possibly owe them anything.
// I can't imagine how we can possibly owe them anything.//
The Government has acknowledged that we owe them money. If you think that they don't then I suggest you contact Boris and ask him.
TTT, Why on earth should I know? The government don't confide in me.
If you are not satisfied you can always voice your opoinion to the relevant government department. That's my final contribution to this thread.
I think it's basically a fine, but it will be in consideration of ongoing projects & initiatives, things which were started during the time we were members, things like The EU Space Programme & CERN etc.
I didn't ask you to post on this thread, you chose to come all know all on me so don't get your Alans in a Brahms when I ask you to back up your claims. So you are quite happy to give £40bn away to the EUSSR no questions asked then? Right oh!
