Had A Great Day Out At Blackpool Today

Armed police (and several squad cars and a riot van) turned up at Coral Island with armed officers detaining a girl and looking for an accomplice. (To what I have no idea) Nothing found on a web search of local news in Blackpool tho...
First time that Ive actually seen armed officers.
Plenty of people with their cameras tho....

In other news, I stuffed myself with fish and chips, a burger and ice cream....
And it was hot....
Scattered a few of my Mums ashes about. She loved Blackpool!

I think armed police are used way more than we think - boy#1 has already been to two jobs where they’ve been accompanied by armed police (and he’s still a student).

I know of two incidents over the weekend in Blackpool, Nailit. One was when a car ploughed into a group of early hours revellers on the prom on Sat morning and the other was a stabbing incident on Sat in which a man in his 50s was stabbed to death. The incident you witnessed may or may not have been related to either one of them?

It did...
Last time that we (me, my sister and my niece ) were all in Blackpool together, with my mum, she joked about her ashes, she knew that she had limited time then.

A bit poigniant this time when we scattered a few.
We just joked that we were grateful that a seagull didnt try to eat a few .....or shat in them....

Left a little part of mum in Blackpool, a place that she loved.

Used to love the place but it's turned into a complete dump. Drug taking capital of Lancashire and no matter how much money they throw at the prom and the pleasure beach, it cannot hide the squalor of the less trodden areas.

Armed police, sick in doorways, people feeding the greedy gulls, kids laughing and swimming in the sea,
All of life and emotions....

Blackpool has the air of a faded Vaudeville star turn - rather jaded but still endearing.

I went up the tower and watched ballroom dancing. I really enjoyed it. We also stopped at a hotel and watched a Neil Diamond tribute act but my son started crying so we had to leave :-)
