For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.there are lots of reasons why women are less likely to actually successfully escape situations like this than men... it is more dangerous for them to travel, they are more likely to have care obligations which make it less possible for them to up sticks, and men are more likely to have been hired by the coalition and therefore under more direct threat of death/torture. its very sad but that is reality.
I do not think it is up to us to say what they ought to be doing... i wouldn't be heading to battle in their situation and i'm not sure many of us would.

The Foreign Officer quickly and efficiently spirited its Ambassadors, High Commissioners and Embassy and Consulate workers back to Blighty.

The situation in Afghanistan is horrendous and there will be no solution until the males work out what century they are living in and that women are not in any way inferior to men.
