Trump's Deal With The Taliban
My understanding is that last year Donald Trump signed a deal with the Taliban to leave Afghanistan by May 1st 2021.
This was delayed until now by Biden - so why isn't the previous American administration sharing the blame for what's currently going on in the country?
Yes this happened on Biden's watch, but are we all supposed to forget who lit the touch paper?
(Terrible mixed metaphors).

I see.
Interesting point.
So would you say that if Biden had completed the withdrawal that the previous administration already started, he could’ve portioned out the blame?
At the moment he comes across as weaselly (is that spelled right?) and weak, but if the withdrawal had followed Trump’s schedule, could he have then justifiable passed the buck?
Not sure he could really.

sp: "So would you say that if Biden had completed the withdrawal that the previous administration already started, he could’ve portioned out the blame? " - no it's still his call but he could at least have claimed he was following what was in place, that's why I used the word "reinforced" in my answer above.
It's 100% Biden's mess as he was not beholden to Trump's commitment.
That's not to say that Trump would have made a better job of it. We'll never know.
At least Biden's leaving his troops there to the end. Almost certainly, Trump would have taken his troops out and left everybody else there. America First.

If you are indeed, seriously, looking at the unfolding horror show in Afgahnistan then you will be aware that Biden defied his Generals in the field who "strongly advised him" not to abruptly pull out the military or there would be chaos. The Trump withdrawal plans saw all non combatants and already identified, and accredited, civilians out before the military. You are looking through the wrong end of the telescope when you let TDS(Trump Derangement Syndrome) guide your judgements.

Biden is not to blame for anything imo
As yesterday showed he has decided that the country is not worth one more American soldier’s life but sadly 13 of them paid the price
I do not blame him one iota for taking the action he has
As he said and I keep repeating it is for Afghans to now fight for their country

Spicerack: "He should impeach himself."
Nice one Spicer! genuine LoL
Would be as applicable to Bush 2, Obama, Trump and Biden of course.
Had a listen to tonight's Any Questions ? on Radio 4, and the incorrect nonsense spouted by Dan Norris, Labour, the "they will now have a base gain to plot terrorist attacks", when we 'know' (after torture!) that 9/11 was planned in Hamburg, finalised in Florida while Bin Laden was receiving dialysis in Pakistan ( still, must justify that Afghanistan Invasion 'because' nonsense), then Mark Harper, Conservative, claiming the first thing the Taliban did when they took over was release 5000 terrorists, when in fact that was arranged over a year and a half ago...
"The February 2020 peace deal signed by the Trump administration and the Taliban pushed the Afghan government to release up to 5,000 prisoners, "

It is not surprising people misunderstand when politicians misinform them.

Then why are we intent in "getting them all out?"
In the last 18 months, when the previous administration in the US was making arrangements, no US or civilian support staff were killed or targeted by a terrorist organisation. An accord had been reached to withdraw peacefully and carefully, ensuring that the Afghans themselves were gradually handed the reigns of power and responsibility. Biden sought bragging rights in rushing the process before he is impeached( he will be). It was easy to tell the military to get out, he is head honcho, they do what he says. When the senior military personnel queried the directives and asked about the kit and infrastructure they were told to do it pronto and shut the whatsit up. The Taliban are now the temporary owners of squillions of dollars worth of hi tech kit that the Chinese and Russians are currently analysing and copying in order to sell to every tin pot band of murderous psychos that hate the Western civilisations. In fact the Taliban have an Apache helicopter gunship capability that is greater than that of 85% of all the World's legitimate governments. The Afghan civil servants, movers, and shakers, fled with as much as they could carry as soon as Biden gave the order to pull out now, no delay. They were expecting a controlled transitional period that included Taliban elders and influencers a guided tour of the control room. Just another example of the Biden dead hand on policy. Whether foreign or in house.
