So sir nick Carter and boris Johnson say There’s a “great sense of regret” for the 1000 (prob more in reality) Afghans who had helped our troops that will be left behind (to face certain torture and death).
“Great regret”!!!! Cmon man! These are lives, people! YOU’VE (nick Carter , boris) have failed to protect. I find that despicable
what happens when some of those who have been airlifted out turn out to be turncoats, terrorists, it's not without some credence this could happen. When they get a foothold in the door - turn on the country that evacuated them.
Aunt Pg I’m pretty sure that they won’t be treated kindly as they helped our troops. I’m not talking of the Afghans in gen - I’m talking of the 1000 estimated that are left behind after they helped our troops. They wlll be weeded out.
there has been no easy answer to this, according to the news 100,000 have been evacuated already. Boris and co hands are tied to the Americans, once US leave then UK has no choice to follow suit, because they don't have the manpower to hold the airport, also according to the BBC news.
As I understand it a lot of people have been unable to get to the airport because of numerous Taliban checks en route. Some who have worked for us are in hiding. I don't doubt Boris has the best of intentions but I'm not sure what anyone expects him to do to get those people out - and I don't doubt that if they are discovered they will meet an unthinkable end. What a terrible situation.
how many should have been evacuated then? you said a 1,000 but there could be a whole lot more, and don't forget that the bomb that went off killed Americans and British alike, including the Afghans waiting at the airport. The fact remains that we are tied hand and foot to the Americans and if they are leaving then so must we. Unless you prefer that British troops stay - then what?
people were informed not to go to the airport because intelligence said that there was an imminent threat, yet they turned up anyway.
what more can be done eve.
are we willing to see More British troops come home in body bags, no i don't think so. They can't defend the airport alone, so they have no choice, unless America, Joe Biden says that they will extend the time allowed and see how many more people they can get out, and i can't see that happening.
