Eleanor; that's good. Some of us weather well, and some not. I think there's a presumption that men weather better than women, but I don't really believe that. It's good that you feel good about yourself.
Every scar and wrinkle tell a story and every grey hair was well earned. Certainly have weathered a few storms through the decades but who has not? I am quite content with the way I look and that is about it, thanks. :)
I regularly get told I dont look my age but not from anyone whose seen me first thing! lol! I've let my shoulder length blonde hair start to grey and been told it looks fabulous, try to keep fashionable, age appropriately, wear makeup and try to keep the weight off. I look at old photos and think wow I wish I still looked like that, but these days I'm grateful to wake up every morning to be honest.
I've been forced to take better care of myself Athiest after not doing .. (diabetes) I've lost two stone. I still work part time in a physical job (cleaner) I try to get a decent amount of sleep. I make sure I moisturize daily. You can only do the best you possibly can.
I had weathered very well until the last few years when pain took over. However I still look better than a lot of ladies my age. We never know until it happens how our health can affect how we look, until it happens and we should never be congratulated about how we have weathered. (and not judge others, like poor Daniella). At lot of it is in the genes and a lot in what life has dished out. Anyway it's not our looks that count as we get older. I really think surgery, Botox, etc. usually makes people look awful and takes character away from their face.
(a bit off-thread - but why do people refer to me as Athiest rather than Atheist? I may be a bit Athy, I may even be a bit Athier than others; but I'm not the 'Athiest')
