Boris plans to sack Raab at the end of the week.
His popularity amongst Tory MPs has plummeted over his tardy show during the present Afghanistan crisis.
Liz Truss is lined up to replace him. The only fly in the ointment might be she is too popular. Her approval ratings are far far higher than Boris’ own, and he might be reluctant to promote his eventual successor.
Raab was the Brexit secretary who didn't realise cross-Channel trade was important? The foreign scretary who didn't realise Afghanistan was collapsing? I suspect his greatest talent is for keeping a straight face while other people's jaws are hanging open.
I think it is his ignorance and indifference that are the problem jackdaw... nobody except a few deluded tories really believes that the UK could have altered the events in Afghanistan... Raab is still a mediocrity promoted far above his talents.
Trump had agreed with the Taliban that all US forces would be gone by 1st May 2021.
So we should have at least had a plan to extract our assets by then.
It became apparent in mid August that there was no plan.
Biden never said he was going back on Trump’s deal so the Us withdrawal should not have take our foreign secretary by surprise if he was any way competent - which he isn’t.
