I suggest a parade with floats and flags, marching bands and possibly a royal guest to bring about a state of national euphoria (nothing to do with Europe, Tora). We can trick ourselves into believing that this is the best we can possibly hope for and be content. The day will finish with tea parties and bonfires and we'll be damned glad to have been allowed to...
Tora- //only three Labour leaders have won a General election in 120 years we are primarily a Tory country. //
Of course, McDonald and Atlee won two elections each, Wilson and Blair three, but don't let that muddle your point. (and yes, Bliar was a Labour PM no matter how you choose to change history, but if you want to count the war criminal as a Tory, he certainly seems to fit the bill)
TTT I hate Boris and his ineptness at running this government.
In every department there are mistakes, things not done right and in most cases done unfairly.
What is there to like with Boris??
Tora- //Like most labour supporters I do not count Blair as a Labour leader.//
Regardless, he run and won as leader of the Labour party. No matter how we look at him in hindsight, whether we like him or not, he was a Labour PM
It's worth noticing that if you look at the actual election results rather than PMs, since 1900 the results are...
Cons - 17
Labour - 12
Liberal - 1
A little closer than your constant "threw labour leaders" carp. Have you ever thought of journalism? I'm sure the Daily Mail could use someone of your grasp of the fantastic.
agent Cob was the alternative to Boris in 2019, it's a reasonable question to ask if those whining about Boris would have preferred the alternative at the time.
The thing is you are defending Boris (and the so called Tories) because they were better than COB. Well yes, but thats hardly a tough call is it, why shouldnt we expect better and why should the Tories turn into a defacto Green liberal Party just because the opposition is poor?
Boris is a lying shyster, he has wrecked the Party I love. I will not forgive him nor will I vote for him again. I will spoil my paper if no better party comes along. (I'd rather gouge my eyes out than vote labour).
Part of Labour’s problem now is that the Tories under Johnson have adopted some of their policies!
Huge amounts of government spending, but combined with a dash of BrexitSpeak and an appeal to the “patriotic” voter who doesn’t like all that “mind your ps and qs stuff
Boris feared to tread where no other Tory leader dared. Compared with Cameron and May he is a lion amongst donkeys. For that reason alone he has my enduring support.
