sensible policies for a happier nation bobbs!
You may scoff, but to radical Muslims, which the Taliban are, observance of Shariah law is absolutely fundamental - pun intended - so their enforcement is entirely a major part of their grip on power and control.
Andy they misinterpret the Quran for their evil regime
Bobbi - // Andy they misinterpret the Quran for their evil regime //

Every single adherent of every single faith anywhere on the planet interprets their tome of faith to suit their own purposes, because that is simple human nature.

For the vast majority, such interpretation is personal, and affects no-one else.

Mt Muslim barber shaves his beard, he knows it is a sin, he has to live with his mother's fervent disapproval, but in order to cope with a skin condition, he is willing to accept that he sins.

That's the sort of accommodation that goes on all over the word every minute of every day.

Where it becomes an issue is when psychopaths use their perversion of instructions to hang their psychotic behaviour on, and justify murder and misery, making themselves feel better by telling themselves that it is right and proper to do as they do.

Human nature will overrule religion any day - but sadly, human nature has considerable extremes.

I see their PR man is about today! Morning Andy! ☻
TTT - // I see their PR man is about today! Morning Andy! //

If suggesting that I am a 'PR man' for the Taliban is your idea of wit TTT, then it is misplaced.
//Andy they misinterpret the Quran for their evil regime //

No, they don't. The Koran is such that all can be justified.
Andy didn’t say that Naomi .
naomi - // //Andy they misinterpret the Quran for their evil regime //

No, they don't. The Koran is such that all can be justified. //

As I have pointed out on this, and many other threads, interpretation is the basis of any and all religious belief.

It can be interpreted or misinterpreted - and again which is which is entirely in the eye of the beholder - to suit the beliefs and actions of the individual.

Singling out the Quoran as an example is not balanced - all religions behave in exactly the same way because, although not all men see religion in the same way, they are all governed by human nature.
I know, anneasquith. Bobbi said it at 10.29 - which is why I was speaking to her.
anna - // Andy didn’t say that Naomi . //

Naomi is not suggesting that I did - she is quoting Bobbi from further up the thread.
Cross-posted.
Indeed .
AH, 10.47. There is no misinterpretation.
Naomi I think I read you’ve read some of the Quran? , I haven’t so you’ll know more about this then I do
naomi - // AH, 10.47. There is no misinterpretation. //

As a non-Muslim, I don't think that's really a judgement you can make with any degree of authority.
Bobbi - // Naomi I think I read you’ve read some of the Quran? , I haven’t so you’ll know more about this then I do //

Reading and understanding are not always the same thing.
I'm not interested in your thoughts about me, AH.

Yes, bobbi, I have read it, I have three translations.
