...you know, it's quite possible, as Anton Yelchin discovered with an automatic that you can leave it in D and get out! How sad would it be if they didn't get out of the way in time? Would that be a crime?

Well if it was an accident then it would be just that. And someone would die or survive.
These people are a menace - to the cause as much as anything else, but I wouldn’t be cheering.
Their main spokesperson was on Sky earlier claiming they have no choice but to do what they do: which is a pathetic attempt to wriggle out of responsibility for their actions.

The genuinely believe that all standard forms of protest have gained no meaningful reaction from the government, so they are now forced into direct action in an effort to get their voice heard.
The resulting problem, which they fail to grasp, is that yes, their voice will be heard, but its message will be soundly vapourised by the righteous anger of the inconvenienced public.
That's the problem with obsession - by its very nature, it means you become desenitised to the effect of your actions designed to get your message heard, and think only of the message, not the result of your methods.

There was a clip on LBC where they wouldn't get out of the way even though a motorist was in tears because she couldn't follow her mother (who was in her 80s) in an ambulance which had passed through earlier.
Those images will turn just about everyone (including those who support their aims against them).
Their actions are turning decent people against them.
What would happen in TTT's fever dream? The driver would have to prove to the police that it was an accident. They would have to be at the front of the traffic queue or if a queue had not formed, the CPS would have to prove intent which they would be able to do if the SOC officers were not able to verify any tyre marks indicating swerving operations.
Another outcome is that many would hug themselves in joy that someone has been killed in the hope that it deters any more protests and then move on.
