The Saudi State through their Investment Fund is to take over the English Premiership side.

Saudi happily hack to death troublesome journalists and dismember their bodies while the young are still alive, has somehow passed the FAs ‘Fit and Proper’ ownership test.

I suppose when you’ve not win a domestic trophy since the mid-fifties you’ll sell yourself even to the devil.
I’ve always regarded Newcastle as a bit of a bad joke: I guess if they fail to win the league the manager will need to watch his head …
We all live in a country that sells arms to Saudi Arabia ...
Ich,oh dear and what about their constant full stadia at their home matches, that ain’t no joke:0)
It is in a way because for all the support and passion they never win anything :-)

We may sell arms to the Saudis but they don’t “own” the UK.
I’ll be interested to see the FA’s reasoning that the new bankrollers are sufficiently separate from the Saudi state
For the last 14 years Ashley has put his business interests in front of the Club, I agree there’s been no silverware since 1968 when they won the Fairs Cup, Tyneside is passionate about its football and this has given us Geordies hope for the futures, they’re the best fans anyway , now it’s up to the players to repay the loyalty they’ve shown
I always thought South Shields was the home of the sand dancers (it's not called Saudi Shields for nothing). Looks as though they've upped sticks and crossed the Tyne.
Nah that’s the blokes from the tea clippers families 3times removed JD :0)
Money Laundering.
Probably cause hypa inflation in the transfer market.
Didnt have you down as an Islamophobe,Gromit. However each to their own and all that...

Not Islamaphobic. But anyone who has been taking notice will know I am nor enamoured with the Saudi Regime. Nothing to do with religion, they are just barbaric, cruel, corrupt and loathsome.
With the new owners, it's quite possible that football hooliganism will reach new levels.
@0.33.Just because you say you are not Islamophobic doesnt mean you are not Islamophobic,Groms/sunk.Schickelgruber always claimed to not be anti-semitic,Corbyn always claims to be non anti-semitic."By their words,ye will know them",as our dear departed friend Theland would say.

It wasn't Theland's finest hour I know, but as he's not here to defend himself anymore, that's a bit of a cheap shot digging that one up.
I'd like to say that gromit is anything but islamophobic. Britophobic, yes!
///but as he's not here to defend himself anymore, that's a bit of a cheap shot ///

I agree Mozz.
I saw one fan on TV who said that if Man City can do it, then Newcastle can do it. I admire the Newcastle fans, I really do. I think they're the best fans in this country because no matter what garbage is happening behind the scenes, they always support the team, home and away. But Man City had the extra motivation of catching up with, and overtaking, their Red neighbours. I'm not convinced that the takeover will have the desired effect, ie, winning The Premier League in the next 5 to 10 years. And with that statement, it looks like goodbye Steve Bruce.
