I never known many people who do want to go to work, or fill a job they don't like. The point is the state is providing money to them for doing nothing at all. So either work for it or lose it, simple as that. This country finds more reasons for not making them work for it, then good reasons for them to do so. If you don't work, you don't eat, no ifs or buts.
This long Covid, it's the new chronic fatigue syndrome for many, innit.

So teacake44 you want them to steal (costing the state money) or starve and become ill (ditto)? Illustrious people who have stolen to eat include Daniel Craig and The Rolling Stones. Or they'd beg for money or victuals - a young Michael Caine - https://www.google.co.uk/books/edition/What_s_It_All_About/H8VbQbS7n78C?hl=en&gbpv=1&dq=michael+caine+sandwiches+fresh&pg=PA117&printsec=frontcover Admittedly he was in France and had no work permit.
I've never given a Joe Loss about what anybody else gets on the dole, or has stashed away in the Bahamas, or whatever.
If the Jobcentre has reason to doubt a claimant has done enough to look for work, is available for work, has either refused to apply for or accept employment without good reason, they will refer the matter to a Decision Maker (DM).

If the DM agrees with the referral, benefit can be disallowed (JSA) or sanctioned (JSA stopped, UC reduced) for a fixed period dependent upon any previous sanctions.

And ditto their kids right?

We should take away benefits if we *suspect* that they're workshy and if they have kids or looking after elderly parents, then tough.

Next...state pensions!
The workshy up here in Scotland would need a cattle prod just to get out of bed, never mind forcing them to get a job.
Any unskilled work, if nobody was forced to do it, and people got fed up enough with litter etc. would eventually be done by volunteers. As for skilled jobs, why not go the whole hog and earmark the right people in childhood to be trained in particular jobs?
Who would have thought bobbi and teacake agree
Yes, does Bobbisox1 want people to starve to death (which would majorly b.u.g.g.e.r. up any moral stance we wanted to take against other countries)?
Was the reason we left European community not that acause we are self sufficent so let gets on with it .When Boris gets back he’s gonna sort it aren’t you old boy …… oh he is back Right he we go .
Those with children are never forced to work or lose benefits because of the issue of child poverty and they know this.
I should also point out to Bobbisox1 that, while we can say what we want fairly anonymously on here, "All this binary twaddle is a step too far" is unlikely to thrill employers. Although she is I presume retired she may want to make this clear to younger relatives. I have used the word 'cuckoo' for 'mad' but not in polite company.
Redhelen 19.24 I posted a thread about this many moons ago, and most if not all disagreed with me. So take from that what you will. Work or don't eat, when the belly gets empty enough they would soon work. Ask the 8/10 old's in India.
Perhaps teacake you think marcus Rashfard should be suggesting that instead of free meals for hungry young children we should be making the kids go out and work in sweat shopslike they after do in India???
Had a look at teacake44's previous. Diagnosis - troll.
