Thread is pointless
Not enough people here have seen a relative die due to a lack of resources and finances but have no problem seeing a child rapist and murderer get 3 squares a day and a roof over his head at the cost of mere millions to the taxpayer for the next 30+ years
none. There is no absolute proof, which is why hanging was abandoned: the wrong people were being executed. Would Colin Stagg have escaped the gallows? How about Gerry Conlon? Even Dr Crippen was unlucky.
yes Crippen - aged 11 ( me not him )
I found it v odd - the jury didnt - that only bit of skin of Belle found was around the neck and it showed bruising
you never know, Google. The ads used to pronounce Hyundai with two syllables - hyoon-dai - but eventually gave up in the face of everyone (in Britain) pronouncing it high-un-die and now pronounce it that way themselves.
jno Americans (and this was an eye opener for me) pronounce it "Hundy"!! It makes logical sense to me that suppliers will tailor the pronunciation for non Korean speaking countries because it makes perfect marketing sense. It still irritates me however as someone who believes that it should be pronounced as it is in the country of origin.
I know I tread a fine line between being correct and being pompous but hey.
..the same goes for other major manufacturers IMO
Nikon ("Nikon" and not "nyyye-kaaaaahn")
Renault ("Renno" and not "Ren-alt")
Nissan ("Nissan" and not "Knee-sawn")
...but again, marketing.
