It isn’t hypocrisy. It shows they not everyone is equal in situations like this.
That’s unfair or a matter of expediency depending on your point of view.
The fact is not everyone or all situations ARE equal

How are Australia and New Zealand’s vaccination programmes going?
You’d think there would come a time pretty soon when they have to relax a bit or they’ll store up problems for themselves in future.
I suppose the apartness they feel from the rest of the world influences their thinking

NZ 75% vaccinated, UK and Australia 73%. But that's at least one jab: UK has 67% "fully vaccinated", the other two 61%. It doesn't mention boosters, but I suspect that doesn't yet apply down under since they started the first jabs later.

However, they are still alarmed when someone dies; this is barely mentioned in the UK any more.
