Lockdown Debate Lol - Re Mother In Law!
65 Answers
MIL is a highly intelligent woman, as is FIL. (But male lol). and they have always(accurately) based/predicted peaks in COVID cases, numbers on amount of ambulances they see per week, and on a specifi number of routes. And they have always been correct, including both lockdowns , the week before. They are both saying we are definitely going to have another lockdown announced end of November/early December. One of her key points is that people have all stopped wearing face masks way too early, and they ar3nt being enforced anymore, and that this country is nowhere strict enough on lockdown rules compared to other countries. (Oh and that Boris Johnson is an utter moron !!) What are your thoughts? BTW this is all light hearted and not a serious medical debate. Just wondered your thoughts on another lockdown?? Will it happen? : ) BTW I’ve told her that I’m asking my AB mates their valuable opinions : )

I think she’s right too, and I’m also still wearing my face mask, although I’ve only been out a handful of times I just cannot afford to get ill. But say last week, said MIL insisted on taking me out for an hour to a local garden centre, purely to get out of the house, and we honestly were the only two there who were wearing face masks!
Here face masks in schools except when outside for PE. Entry into and leaving restaurants and to use WC. In all shops and shopping centres. In all doctors, dentists, vets lawyers etc. All health centre doctors are seeing patients in person. Holiday makers from UK are objecting to mask wearing and don't like being refused entry for non compliance
Most of the customers in our local Sainsburys are wearing masks but I went into Lidls today and noticed that a lot of people were not wearing one. Went to a funeral yesterday and most people in the chapel were wearing one. Our village shop insists on it as do some of the other local places but then they are mostly run by 1/2 people and cannot afford to close.
Evening everyone whose just commented! Would we all stick to another lockdown?? Well, last Xmas was basically wiped out, and was v lonely and a sad one, ruined for most people. This year said MIL wants to host it, and to make up for things by doing a lovely 48 hrs of food etc. So would be very hard to leave them on their own again and not have a family day, seeing as we’ve all had both vaccines and they’ve had boosters too. Hope if doesn’t come to that.
