Backing the French as a loyal ally saying....."I had a great meeting with President Macron. The US has no older no more Loyal ally than France .they have been with us from the beginning and we will always be there for them. ............( I always thought UK AND USA were joined at the hip)...

the last US president with any fondness for Britain was Clinton, who studied here. To Bush Jr, Obama, Trump and Biden the UK is just another country. The only special relationship the USA has is with Israel (and perhaps Taiwan, we'll see).

I don't think the US had any affection for Afghanistan, PP, they just wanted revenge for 9/11 and the Taliban were thought to be hiding Bin Laden. They stuck around later to save face, not because they liked the place or anybody in it. But Israel they will protect to their dying day and maybe they'll be ready to go to war over Taiwan too.
