They got there via the Norther route around the Black Sea. Either through and with the help of Ukraine, or even further North through a Russian connection. Have you seen the Russian troop gatherings in that region? I know where my money lies on that bet.
I don’t think you’ve grasped what is actually happening: this whole scenario is a setup by the Belarusian authorities. The people in the Belarus side are being controlled by the army and actively encouraged to try to cross, presumably in an attempt to create some sort of “incident”.
Meanwhile those who’ve made it into Poland have been “sent back” across - except they’ve not been able to get beck and are freezing in the Polish forest.
The Polish authorities while doing their utmost to defend their border should at the same time treat humanely those who’ve entered their country.
Earlier in the summer the Lithuanian authorities caught Belarusian border guards literally marching refugees across the border into Lithuania.
It all started when the EU imposed sanctions on Belarus for its crime of air piracy in effectively commandeering a Ryanair plane and kidnapping two of its passengers
Not content with this, they are now engaging in people trafficking, cynically using refugees as weapons in their vendetta.
Or is a potentially dangerous situation as the Polish authorities are perhaps less tolerant than their Lithuanian allies and there’s a risk they’ll unwittingly give Lukashenko, the butcher of Minsk, what he seems to want.

Strange that Belarus and Lukashenkos, in particular, are being roundly and rightly condemned for "engineering" the migrant crisis. Perhaps he though the EUSSR would turn a blind eye to his criminal adventure, like they have to the identical French tactic of funneling illegal migrants to the UK for years. He is ever likely to be annoyed at the double standards on display. He is now threatening that Russia, "the largest nuclear power in the World", will support him if the EUSSR don't let the illegals in.
