But- my only information, is a handful of direct experience from people with it, plus whatever I have seen online. I know which sources I trust more, but also know, no humans are infallible... I have done no independent research myself, literally only read what others say, and even officials or scientists... I can't blame anyone for not having 100 % confidence.
My only problem with the whole situation is the lack of clarity as to what the end game is.
Many large sticks and a couple of baby carrots on offer in my wee bit hill and glen. We're already being softened up for Nikki and The Dentists latest 'strategy' next week, which looks like more of the same for no reason or result.
The time will come when we just have to 'man up' and get on with it.

// Lottie, the unvaccinated pose a risk only to themselves. The vaccination is not a magic potion that prevents people from carrying the virus so I think you’re as much at risk from the vaccinated as you are from the unvaccinated.//
this shows screaming illogic in all its forms
Lottie, the unvaccinated pose a risk only to themselves. - nope they can infect but hardly kill those vaccinated
The vaccination is not a magic potion that prevents people from carrying the virus - no they carry less for less time- you can show this by sequential testing.
//so I think you’re as much at risk from the vaccinated as you are from the unvaccinated// nope - doesnt matter what you think - testing has shown you are NOT as at risk from vaccinated
but heigh ho - so what? this is AB on a saturday after noon with not much to do....

I'm not in favour of compulsory vaccination. As I said, it is currently illegal in the UK anyway. However.....
The UK government (along with many others) has seen fit to impose some of the most Draconian restrictions on liberty this country has ever seen (and included in that are some which are harsher than during wartime). Nobody knows whether or not these had any effect on the spread of the disease. Everybody says that they must have, but there was no control to see if this is true or not. But let's assume they did have a beneficial effect. It is clear now that vaccination is managing to prevent the most serious effects of the disease from occurring in many. Despite the high level of infections that are evident, hospitalisations and deaths remain relatively low. Those who are vaccinated stand a far greater chance of remaining out of hospital and surviving the virus. This means that those who are not vaccinated don't have that enjoyment.
The original aim of the lockdown measures was to "save lives and protect the NHS." Presumably any further Draconian measures will have the same aim. However, those who are vaccinated stand a far smaller chance of burdening the NHS so there really is far less need to impose these measures on them. So in my view, if more restrictions are needed "to protect the NHS" they should be targeted towards the people who are most likely to trouble it, rather than others who are less likely to do so. In short, if anyone is to be subject to further restrictions it should be the unvaccinated (with appropriate exceptions for those who cannot have the vaccine for genuine medical reasons).

This seems to be the government’s planned end-game, doggie:

//…would you rather sit next to a vaccinated person with covid, or an unvaccinated one, without it?//
If I was vaccinated myself (which I am) neither would particularly bother me. I travel on buses, tubes, trains and had a couple of flights last month. I have sat next to all sorts of people on those trips as well as in restaurants, pubs and bars. Some were known to me, some not. It never occurred to me to worry about their Covid status. You’ve simply got to get on or you never will.

How absolutely ridiculous to compare using a seat belt to being FORCED to have chemicals injected into your body against your will, but so typical of the poster !!
We need to get back to normal life ASAP, which I have been trying to do for an absolute age now. It is never going to go away (like the flu which also kills people), but how many more times does that need to be said, and we just have to live with it. Not everybody will catch it and not everybody who does will die - FACT !
I can't believe these covid threads are still rumbling on - enough, for crying out loud ...
