Liverpool Murder Arrests After 12 Year Old Girl Stabbed To Death

This is the most dreadful story. The boys arrested are aged between 13 and 15. One child dead and other young lives ruined or, at the very least, blighted.

I don’t have more words….just profound sadness.

A child has been murdered and the best AB can offer is more petty bickering and grandstanding? Shame. RIP Ava. My thoughts are with her family and friends.

some young teenagers feel the need to carry knives, heart breaking
Yes..........sad.

BUT:

Would you let your 12 year old daughter, go with a bunch of girls go to an outside function in Liverpool?

We wouldn't.
You may be right, sqad. But it's a sad reflection on society today.
Turning on the Christmas lights is just the kind of thing kids/teenagers enjoy.
As said, words are difficult to find and pretty useless.

A tragic waste all round and so many lives ruined.
Heartbreaking all round, so sad.
Sadly it seems carrying knives the norm for youths in bigger cities these days
^^^ Not only the bigger cities. It's machetes up here in Accrington. Four men attacked a 14 years old boy a few days ago..
yes - no
I now they carry knives
BUT - what did the 12 y do - say ohh that is nothing, reach into her hand bag and draw out a kalashnikov?
and say - that is what I call a real weapon !
thx to Dirty harry and just about everyone since that one....

oh Benji Stanley ( no conviction ) was shot when he was 14 Manchester - but that was... 25 y ago....
sqad ; //Would you let your 12 year old daughter, go with a bunch of girls go to an outside function in Liverpool?

So it's the parents fault ?
Agree with PP. (I think) What possible danger could a 12yr old girl represent to a gang of boys. She was too young to see the danger she was in.
This is absolutely tragic and I cannot comprehend what her family is going through. Many lives blighted, I agree, but what kind of a person must you be, irrespective of your age, to stab a 12-year-old girl to death?

To address Sqad's point, I wouldn't have let my 12-year-old go to town with their mates on a Saturday night either. We would have taken our 12-year-old to see the lights or whatever, as a family, but not sent them out with their friends. I turned 12 only 6 months after leaving primary school!
Tragic...very difficult reading. My heart goes out to her family.
Is it possible she went with her parents, met her friends, then went off with them for a bit? It could be easy to think that, as a group, they'd be ok...particularly at a family focused event.
Khandro.......they must share the responsibility.
Oh they will, until their dying day.
// Would you let your 12 year old daughter, go to a function in the 'pule? We wouldn't.//

yeah but ni but sqad - that is because your daughter is more like 112 and not 12 innit?

young kids do in the 'pule ( end of as TTT might say ) and I dont mean end of her little life
Peter - // yes - no

Why do you have to pollute a tragic story thread with your puerile gobbledygook?

Either post something that means something, or don't bother posting at all.
Mamy......that's life I'm afraid, you make decisions, some are good and the one's that are bad you have to deal with.......for the rest of your life.
I would agree with the majority that twelve is too young to allow a child out at night in a city centre, but as advised, the poor mite's parents will have the rest of their lives to contemplate that decision.
hi Andy - thank you for you life-advice which I will er do something with as ever

a lot of these cases turn on self defence - even the more outrageous - see Rittenhouse in America. Lawful to take a rifle into a town and shoot someone

a lot of the geeky kids carry knives because it makes them feel safer. The kids the size of Jonathan Van Tam, dont because, well look at the size of them. A co-worker at er work, ( we called him sir) took a knife off someone and stabbed them with it. Judge directed acquittal in the first hour of trial as the Crown was NOT prepared to rebut that defence.

These are very sad facts of life, that no amount of puckering your face and looking pious is going to change

A-H.

PP and you are "characters" on AB and this has to be applauded, as AB is sorely short of such such posters.
