Mozz, was there any history of child abuse or cruelty by this pair before the mother was jailed? As I understand it the father shared custody with the mother up until then and there was no suggestion of cruelty or abuse. In those circumstances, it would be natural for the father to have full-time custody

What I don't understand is that the jury had to sit through 2 months of distressing evidence. Why when it was apparent after a week this pair was guilty!??

As I understand it Sharon, the jury have had to sit through hundreds of hours of video evidence on the phones of the pair as well as many hours seeing texts between these disgusting individuals. According to the BBC that's what has taken time. To be honest, I'd expect the jurors to be given breaks as well due to the distress they must have experienced.

I have no idea Barry, but surely there must've been some signs before Barry was killed. There was a lot of video evidence to sift through, did it only come to light after the event? It just all seems so preventable, but I know that's easy to say in hindsight.

Tonight is the first time I have actually heard the recording of little Arthur saying 'no-one loves me' normally I try to keep myself detached but I can't stop thinking about the living hell the lad had to endure. How can anyone treat a child like this.

Spare a thought for the jurors, having to watch and listen to the evidence day in day out.

I have avoided hearing it, becuase just reading the quote haunted me for days.

I fear that both will be in 'protective custody' for the length of their sentences. Of course, one or both may get attacked from time to time, but overall their safety will be more or less guaranteed. Unfortunately.

appalling crime, i listened to the BBC news with a sinking heart, how could they treat him that way is beyond belief. The cries of the little lad were heart breaking. I hope they get long sentences, and that their lives are made a living hell in prison. Poor wee mite, didn't stand a chance with these beyond evil creatures. Shame that hanging is no longer and option, i would send both to the gallows, they deserve nothing less. Hand on heart i almost broke down when listening to the evidence. Rest now sweet boy.

I did listen to the cries of this little lad on the tape and wished that the earth would swallow up these two evil people, prison is too good for them.
i hope their lives are made a living hell.

I can't bring myself to listen to the wee lad's cries. I just think about my own boy at that age and how I would've destroyed any adult who tried to hurt him. These people need to experience a life of pain and suffering.

I've never been pro capital punishment but these two vile sub humans would be an exception. They even blamed little Arthur in one clip of them. Sick *****!
