A man removes a poster containing a quote from the Prophet Mohammed. What do you think happened to him when Mohammed's followers found out? This is in 2021. And not a lone 'extremist' or a single 'radicalised' person suffering from mental health issues. This is a mob, incited by, yes, you guessed it...the religion of peace. Can anyone please explain it? https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/dec/03/pakistan-sri-lankan-man-priyantha-diyawadana-tortured-killed-alleged-blasphemy-sialkot?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Other

Most unfortunate, Roy. It just wasn’t his day.
archibaldy - // I've heard they are a backwards country but surely it's not the the first time something has been renovated and 'art' has to be taken down. Can't believe this happens every time must be something more to it. //

Until all circumstances are advised via the media, we can only speculate.

It may be that the man simply tore the posters off the wall, unaware of the significvance of them or of his actions, and he may have ben observed by a Muslim extremist, and mob rule took over from there.

We simply don't know.

roy - // Yes, this man was just unlucky to come across a whole factory full of extremists. //

I refer you to my response to archibaldy - my response to you is exactly the same.
Why were extremists in the majority at this factory, oh wise one?

I doubt it's worth including in ones speculation that every time somewhere gets renovated someone gets murdered.
I'm really intrigued how so many extremist can be working at one factory. Was it part of the selection process I wonder?

Nothing extreme here, just a picture of the murdered man and a few peeps gathering round a good old fashioned lynching and taking selfies.

Your OP - apparently the answer is yes:

From the link, oh sarcastic one, there is no indication that the people involved all worked at the factory.

More likely is that the news of what happened spread to the street, and that is where the mob came from.

But of course, we don't know, as I have now said three times.

But you prefer not to notice that because it prevents you from your usual sarky nonsense.
// Seems fairly standard stuff for Pakistan//
agree
PP - // // Seems fairly standard stuff for Pakistan//
agree //

If it was 'standard stuff for Pakistan', it wouldn't be news would it?
So they came from far and wide for the lynching?
What a reassuring bit of news that is.
Roy - which part of 'We don't know...' is not reaching you?

Clearly all of it, because acknowledging that puts a hole in your sarcastic piffle.
21.24, Reuters is reporting that the murderers were factory workers.
It is worth noting that Pakistan has for decades been taking hundreds of $millions in charitable donations from extreme Islamic wahabbi charities (from Saudi Arabia) to fund Pakistani education.
The fact that acts of religious intolerance are now commonplace are not surprising. Khan choosing a blind eye to such extremists is a glimpse to his weakness.
Reuters? Pah! I prefer the bent over backwards analysis thanks.

Much more in tune with the moon.
Weakness? I don’t think he minds at all - even though he diplomatically makes the right noises.

// Weakness? I don’t think he minds at all //
He does. That is why he is making a big noise of it.
No politician wants to admit a cultural influence from another country, particularly when a sectarian murder has taken place.
What cultural influence from another country, gromit? What are you talking about?

Khan’s religious views are not moderate.
fender, don't forget that Pakistanis were Indians before partition in 1947 - they are descended from India.

The police spokesman said: “Unfortunately, I can’t affirm or deny anything at the moment. The alibi used for murder is blasphemy but the cause of murder appears personal and targeted. The issue is being investigated.”
