That entire article is based on "sources say", "A former minister says", "one senior official summed up", etc, etc. It's very easy to make up a damning report when you don't have to name your source. We, of course, know there have been mistakes. Of course there are times when people will not talk on record, but are imparting some truth. Politicians are interested in their further prospects, and will not publicly say anything that might hamper that. So they will talk off record. If this were one or two people, then it wouldn’t matter. But there appear to be lots of Tory MPs not happy with the way Boris is leading the Party.
Even the ultra-loyal Daily Mail were warning Johnson to get a grip and stop the shambles.
The BBC pick up on that vibe and suddenly they are accused of being anti tory, anti Boris, and that their days are numbered.
I don’t think Johnson is in any immediate danger, the timing is wrong. But he needs to take control. Things are unravelling around him, lots of stuff going wrong, it is a snowball that is gathering more mass the longer Johnson ignores it. Eventually that little ball of discontent could be an avalanche.
