Sorry, Canary, I have wandered off track a bit. No, I don't think shot, but visitors who assault staff ought to be charged as anyone else would be. What to do with patients who assault staff, I don't know. Presumably there's already some protocol ?

Hmmm, " recalled a recent incident told to her a by a colleague " so second hand story with no evidence.
Dont get me wrong I have no time for NHS staff being abused, my wife often gets this when parents dont get what they want (she works for CAMHS). But second hand stories with no proof is not the way to go forward as it has been known for some NHS staff to interpret someone daring to disagree with them as being aggressive.
Capture the problems on CCTV then name and shame the scum that do it.
