Who knows? As I’ve been saying for over a year, there is more to that decision than simply case numbers and hospital admissions – far more. In any case, locking down doesn’t particularly achieve anything. It simply prolongs the latest surge.
//It will be interesting in a month to compare cases and deaths.//
It will indeed. But cases are irrelevant. It is hospitalisations and deaths that are a worry.

Definitely the right decision, the only thing is we will be inundated with Welsh and Scottish now as they are not allowed to celebrate in their own land !!
Will they really be coming over here though ? Figures over the festive period suggest that people are staying home and not attending the sales etc
I reckon any influx will be very minimal
If at all
Logistically difficult too in terms of transport and accommodation with the latest variant having such an impact on staff in every sector
I believe there will be more house parties than anticipated though !

//The figures for new cases given by NJ as the UK were correct but they were for England only as no data were given by the other three nations.//
Thanks, Corby. It all gets very confusing over holiday periods. I'll have a recap later in the week when hopefully the scribes have returned to their abacuses.

Yes it is correct. Things are not bad enough for any restrictions. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland have over reacted to bring restrictions in.
Scotland have reacted to the data
Wales
Well who knows ?
Boris is probably still having all the data explained to him like he is 5 years old and will finally react shortly I feel
Numbers everywhere are going through the roof atm
