It should now be a police inquiry, not an internal one. The police have investigated with a lot less evidence over the last 2 years. How much more evidence do the police require than the email along with past photos?

The fact that he attended this party is,IMO,not the main problem.The main issue is that he lied about it and other things.This now,as Douglas Ross says,makes his position untenable.

Do you really think he believes he's done anything wrong? He was at his place of work, also his home, and popped into the garden and saw a (large) group of colleagues having a drink and nibbles. In Bozo's mind, he was just having a chat with people he worked with. At least that's the line he will trot out to the inquiry. Hey-ho, nothing happened, no need to resign.
