Covid Rule Changes...
87 Answers
I havnt kept up with all the covid rule changes
(Which frankly change by the day). Just play it by ear.
Diagnosed with Covid on Thursday (Lateral flow test).
Felt like death warmed up yesterday, (Friday).
Actually had the best sleep of my life for the last few years (last night)
Today I feel a bit 'chesty' and a cough but otherwise fine. Im isolating for the foreseable and booked next week of work.
Bit confused though as to lateral flow tests & PCR tests.
Am I right in thinking that if a lateral flow test shows positive results after 5 days that you can still go back to work?
(Because you are not infectious)
BUT a PCR test indicatates that you CANNOT go back to work until 10 days after?
I might be completely wrong here but that my present understanding.

From the time you get symptoms or a positive PCR you should isolate. On day 6 you can take a LF test and if it is negative you take another one on day 7 and if that is negative then you are free to go. I had covid at Christmas so my info might not be accurate but that is how I remember it.
So confusing!
I was beginning to feel unwell at work on Thursday.
By the time I had finished I was experiencing shivers, headache, sore throat, etc.
Took a 'positive' lateral flow when I got home. Remained home and isolated since.
Recieved a call from my manager who told me to take a pcr test
(which ive sent off for, awaiting its arrival)
Meanwhile Ive been led to believe that 10 days after taking a PCR test that you can return to work even if positive as you are no longer contagious.
Also been led to believe that you can return to work after 2 negative Lateral flow tests, 5 days after a positive result?

//You were talking about your symptoms and I thought I would share mine. Im sorry that you were upset by that//
The joys of text eh?
Not upset in the least, just confused by the blocked nose reference.
I know some people who have had really bad reactions to it all.
Just adding my own experience.
Others I know have had less extremes.
