In my opinion, the question of sex is overcomplicated. The answer is simple....DNA. If you have XX chromosomes you are female and if you have XY chromosomes you are male. Any abnormality of the sex chromosomes which is unusual then you are barred from competitive sport. I can't see the problem with my solution.
Transgender people don't seem to be all that sensitive to the feelings of real women, Jim. They're happy to hijack their sports - and their toilets, etc., regardless of the upset that causes.
Some people might be wrong, then. Difficult conversations, and this is surely one, are made easier if everyone starts off with at least a modicum of respect. Referring to any trans person as a "bloke" isn't even trying.
I have no respect for men that pretend to be women because they cannot compete with the men. I have even less respect for a society and/or sporting association that allows it.
// "If you have XX chromosomes you are female and if you have XY chromosomes you are male"... end of! //
A definition like this may well make more sense in sport (although only partially, since testosterone levels are probably more relevant, but the definition above can be presumably adapted to accommodate that); but it's not "end of" when it comes to societal roles, where your chromosomes simply don't matter and are in any case personal.
