If she is going to continue she needs to start rising to the challenges

//Dame Cressida vowed she was right person to lead the force,//
She has proved time after time that she is not up to the job.She should go.
I do wonder how the many honest and decent officers of the MPS manage to continue serving under such leadership.

It cannot be easy for them to leave their jobs and incomes, indeed I am surprised by the low figure of turnover:

It's not so much the income, it's the pension that makes it hard to leave early.
I know, danny, but they will have mortgages, families to support and so on, considerations which may be more of the moment than the future, dependent upon length of service.
She’s calculating her pension. Not quite ready to go .
How did you get her name in the title, when I raised a similar question the other week it got asterixed out.

Like Johnsons the woman will have to be dragged out of the job. No integrity either of them.

Dick has been a terrible failure, but she has bent over backwards for the Government. First she was Theresa May’s poodle, then Priti Patel’s. And more recently she was instrumental in help Boris buy time to cling on to power. For several weeks she refused to investigate lockdown rule breaking parties despite plenty of evidence (photos etc). Just when Sue Gray was about to deliver her Report, Dick stepped in and succeeded get it massively redacted.
With her abysmal record she should have been sacked months ago. But she is so useful, Boris won’t sack her. When she does eventually go, she will get a huge gong - Lady or Baronet Dick as a reward for services rendered.
'Lady Dick' could open up a whole new career on the resurgent cabaret circuit.
My opinion of both Dick and Patel is very similar in regard to their performance. Maybe it is time Sadiq Khan starts to get the skids under the Met Commissioner. The public is entitled to expect some action from Dick rather than numerous apologies.

Chuckling at your headline, Sticky, but would have chuckled a tad louder had you added the word 'firm' :-)
As for "rising to the challenge" i've heard there's pills to help with that.
there's a limit to what Khan can do. Unlike in New York, she's appointed by the home secretary, not the mayor.
Boris would look very ungrateful if he sacked her.
And her replacement might be less accommodating and less compliant or even worse, might be competent.
I am aware of that fact.

Khan can start with fulfilling his responsibilities:
"The Mayor of London, as occupant of the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) is required by law to produce a plan that explains how the police, community safety partners and other criminal justice agencies will work together to reduce crime."

Thank you Ken
I limited myself to a couple of double entendres only

One does wonder if there will be stiff opposition to fill her slot though ?

*competion not opposition

She’s gone all floppy instead! :

It’s just been on, she’s stepping down !
Question Author
She seemed quite rigid on her stance in the initial link ?

Will the next Commissioner be as much in cahoots with Boris ?

That said Boris will be long gone before the next top cop is in post

Sounds like she has crossed swords with Sadiq Khan dramatically this afternoon
I pretty much knew she was stepping down as soon as she said she had no intention of resigning.
Thank God for that. Well done Khan.
