I've heard of smart dress code and fancy dress but what were they thinking suggesting what women should wear! I can't wear high heals for starters and as for form-fitting tops, I'd rather wear a smart top, so that cancels me out then...not that I go to places with dress codes anyway. I prefer a leisurely approach.
It's really no different to AB's own dress code though, is it, surely, Tigger?
I'm sitting here in full evening dress and top hat, as per AB's posting rules for all male members. I hope that, also as per AB's rules, you're dressed as if for the swimwear round in the Miss World competitions of olden days.
They did it for free publicity - and got millions of quids worth for free. The few "objectors" will be far outnumbered by the increased footfall from such widespread free advertising.
I was thinking of it from a sexist view in that they wanted women in tight-fitting tops and high heal straps. Many women would probably dress this way or similar on an evening out anyway but to make it a rule is a bit obsurd. Should've just stuck to saying 'smart dress'.
