i hope that makes some sense.
Question Author
perhaps this would have been better in Technology or Editor Blog......
Don't quite understand the question Emmie. Removed from where? If you put Daily Mail in the search box it comes up.
Question Author
click on News, and the top page used to have links direct to the BBC and the mail, i don't think i am seeing things.
Question Author
i know it's still early, but sure they were there before. or im cracking up
Sorry, but I don't remember seeing that.
Question Author
so how do you post links
Question Author
to those two sites.
They've been removed.
You search google for BBC or Daily Mail, click on the story that you want then copy and paste the address exactly as you would for YouTube or any other web page
Question Author
oh ok, i wonder why...
Question Author
so they were there recently, i thought i must be going round the twist....
Probaby happened when some of the categories were removed or merged. I never used those links.
Just add Daily Mail and BBC News to your browser's favorites/bookmarks or whatever your browser calls them
I didn't use those links either, I just copy links when I find them and then paste on here.

Perhaps they've been removed to avoid accusations of bias?
I was thinking that, Corby. This site's affiliation with the Daily Mail ended long ago and there are many other news sites.
Having links to popular sites used to get you a better ranking in search engines. But that no longer applies, search is more sophisticated now.
And there is the danger that once an AB user goes to another site, they will get distracted and stay there rather than lurk on here.
I never used the links. I have bookmarks or links on my home screen to newspapers, sport, weather etc.

I used those links sometimes...there was also Reuters and I think a fourth one. I'm pretty sure they were there recently. I've used BBC and Daily Mail so often that they are included amongst my "most visited" when I open a new tab.
There were also links to The Economist and Bloomberg.
