You make the mistake in thinking that Putin is at all bothered about ordinary Russians - he isn’t.

You make the mistake in thinking that Putin is at all bothered about ordinary Russians - he isn’t.
Surely the plummeting Rouble will be hurting. OK he's probably got a stash of $ but if abroad they are not usable.
I think its is pride that will be hurt the most.
And I dont think he is insane, just an evil tyrant. Bet he has been planning something like this for years, certainly regaining the old USSR.
