Yes, but - there's always that human desire to know what's going on.
I agree
I sometimes envy those who live in very remote areas, cut off from the modern world. No communication, no knowledge of what might be happening.
This is not News

Anyone agree?

Yes. There's no doubt about it. I just find the only interesting things to watch nowadays are either the news or documentaries.
I sorta don't agree but when I am talking to my cousin - I;m absolutely amazed when she says she doesn't listen, watch, buy papers - she knows nothing. I don't like it.

I would like to be like that but I need to be involved with the world situations to make me feel like a human being.
Posting in "News" to advise avoiding the news. Hmmm.

I'm sorry I've upset anyone by posting this in the news section, I do apologise.
The title of this section is News, and the question addresses that topic.

Only an idiot would complain about that Dave.
Life during the COVID crisis was so much more bearable without the constant bombardment of spraff from all sides, i.e. not consuming the constant stream of news.

Likewise the Putin adventure.

It's healthier not to dwell on something you can't change, vested interests will solve all immediate problems then move on to create the next ones.
Best I find to watch the news to update yourself, and then get on with life.
A bit like we used to before 24 hour rolling news channels.
I don't watch news, it's very biased, repetitive and depressing. I do though, check headlines online to make sure I am not missing anything important (the local person that came in to work to let us know about 9/11 downplayed it so much I was so much more terribly shocked than I should have been by 5.30pm when i saw what was actually involved invthd 'plane crash'...I fear not knowing about something that important again..)
Don't watch the News, can't haven't got a TV licence. The 24 hour News was just so depressing but at the same time addictive.

Best decision I ever made.
I do have News24 on in the background a lot but just lately I'm beginning to wonder if there is any other news beyond the Ukraine disaster. It was a bit like that with the xmas party business a few weeks back.
I have dreaded switching on the news lately... (Obviously) but listen throughout the day mostly to 'Talksport' but regular updates are different to the visuals on TV.
bring back the 19th century. It was weeks before anyone here knew Lincoln had been assassinated.

But Reuters got a scoop on the battle of Wataerloo - their man there had a carrier pigeon and it flew the news back to London within hours.
Yes, ignorance is bliss. I get my news from the newspaper only, that way i can scan it easily and just read i bits i want to. Hardly ever watch any TV news.
I don't watch any news, I get the odd bit on Twitter but never watch it.
