No one likes their country being taken over but.. would the life style be any different to the population to what they already had .I mean they would still have jobs homes families being safe shopping etc no one would be taken out and shot.
I don't understand the loss of the country was it worth it

Your country being taken over , will 99.9 % means that the force taking over would be an authoritarian regime and by definition, not believing in the democratic rights of it's citizens .

Free speech would go for a start in Ukraine under Putin. Lots of people who use to be in there goverment will misteriously disappear or end up in prison for some alleged crime.

itchy The people of Russia (general public) are at this time not able to go about their normal lives, they've been hit with massive inflation. Massive inflation hits the not so well off people a lot lot harder.

My in-laws had a lot to say what it was like living in Hungary occupied first by Germany and then by Russia. The former were apparently preferable to the latter. Yes, their life was different !!

It was that good they walked out over the border into Austria as refugees on a night when the border guards were Hungarian rather than Russian as they felt they were less likely to shoot their own people.

what if the Nazis had conquered Britain? In all likelihood they wouldn't have made everyone speak German, things would have been much as they were, though Brits would fight for the occupiers in future wars or be jailed/shot, jobs would go by preference to German speakers, Jews would be gassed, and you'd go shopping with Reichsmarks.
