...........the Govt thinks that everyone is well off. Lots of phone-ins etc about how the Chancellors measures will affect everyone, but the govt can see that most people have all, or most of, mobile phone/i-Pad/computer/family car/large screen tv/cable or satellite subscription/donate regularly to charity/have a gymn or golf club membership/go on holiday. Why should the government have any concerns when all of that is relevant? They see all of that, so don't see any need to intervene in the exploitation being perpetrated by the energy companies. You're all well off, you see? If you want to see how much money the government thinks you need to live on, then look at the Jobseekers Allowance for a single person, which rises exponentially for couples with children.
