Oh Dear - Ttt Continues To Claim He Has Seen No Evidence Of Boris Lying
As threatened, here is another link with more details of Boris’s and other Tory government ministers lies.
In this link (courtesy of tonyav) is the following information:-
‘Mr Johnson and his ministers have made at least 27 false statements to parliament since the 2019 election, and have failed to correct them.
A recent investigation by The Independent – working with Full Fact – has found that the prime minister made 17 of these statements.
None of the statements has been formally corrected – a process that is required under the ministerial code. Will Moy, chief executive of Full Fact, said it amounted to a “crisis of dishonesty”.’

Note for TTT, if I was a Tory supporter – I would do everything possible to stop people posting negative articles about them, especially in the run up to the local elections.

This is boring. People who think Boris Johnson doesn't tell lies can't be reasoned with, much like Trump supporters. I wouldn't bother.

Tora @ 13:39 Agreed, but if the thing being described in the original quote is something that the speaker is able to control, it should be taken as their intent. If that intent is not carried out and no viable reason is given, then the only conclusions that can be reached is that they are incompetent, or had no intention of doing it in the first place. The second of those options is the lie, the first, when we're talking about a country's leader, is an even worse scenario.
Besides Boris’s lies, no one seems to care that this Tory government have made at least 27 false statements (17 attributed to Boris) to parliament, since the 2019 election and failed to correct them as required by the ministerial code – which Will Moy (of Full Fact) said amounted to a ‘Crisis of honesty’.
If I were Starmer, I would insist on these lies being corrected (for the parliamentary record) as required by the ministerial code. It is important that they are corrected, and noted as such in Hansard (see below from wikipedia).
'Because Hansard is treated as accurate, there is a parliamentary convention whereby if a member of Parliament makes an inaccurate statement in Parliament, they must write a correction in the copy of Hansard kept in the House of Commons library.'

NAOMI, he said in his letter to the PM in February,
"The distinction [between in work and on payrolls] has been highlighted by the ONS when they published the most recent labour market figures, as well as in the media, in Parliament, and in a letter of 1 February from the Authority’s Director General for Regulation to 10 Downing Street’s Chief Analyst.
I hope you will agree that public trust requires a complete statement of this important measure of the economy."
As Downing Street's Chief Analyst had been already informed and the PM had been notified in February, there is no justification for his repeating the lie in Parliament.

Corby, this is ridiculous - but we see the same witch hunts with anyone deemed unpopular by the same group on here. It’s like Groundhog Day. The figures are published. They’re not a secret so there’s nothing to be gained by deliberately lying. Nothing. Boris just conveyed the good news, that’s all. Get a grip for goodness sake.
//Breaking your word by not doing something that you insisted will be done, unless there are unforseen circumstances, means your original pledge was a lie.//
No it doesnt.
It at the time you fully had the intention to do it it was not a lie. If you subsequently change your mind then it doesnt mean the original intention suddenly becomes a lie. Otherwise every U-turn would render the original proposition a lie.

NAOMI, did you bother to check his claim or did you just accept it as fact?
For those on payrolls, the number si
prior to the pandemic has increased but for those in work, including those self-employed, the number has gone down by 600,000.
That is a big difference and either he doesn't understand that or he doesn't care and he knows most folk wouldn't bother to check.
He lied.
